Installation
When you setup Vista Caller ID, one of your PC's (one
that has a connection to
your fixed telephone line) is going to act as a server. This server will send notifications of
incoming telephone calls to other PC's, over the network that links all computers.
Those other (Media Center) PC's will act as clients. They will show a notification,
every time you receive a telephone call.
The whole setup will look like this:
Download the Vista Caller
ID Server application, and install it on the machine that is going to act as the
server.
Download one of the Vista Caller
ID Client applications, and install that on your (Media Center) PC that is going to act as
a client.
You can install clients on multiple PC's.
